Create a Jira Story under an Epic. I want to create all my epics and stories from Confluence. When I open the Jira Macro, I can select a Project Name and what I want to create: an Epic, a Story, a Task. I need to link my stories to the Epic but I can't see a way to select my Epic. I can only select a Project space.
Jira supports versioning by way of a Fix Version(s) field. Generally that is intended to be "past tense" as in the issue was fixed in 1.2, 1.4, 1.5 but often people use for planning purposes. While Epics can be fully contained w/in a release, more often than not an epic spans multiple releases so generally I don't use versions on Epics.
1. Pay for a third party app that will allow you to create issue templates. 2. Follow the guidance in this post t o create a custom Description-Template field where you can put your template text, and use automation to copy that text to the built-in Description field. Like • Sari likes this.
This is the rule background: 1 - The automation will be triggered when a new issue is created. 2 - Using the Issue fields condition, the automation will check if the issue type of the new issue created is "Task". 3 - Using the action Edit issue fields, the Epic link field of the issue will be edited, properly added with the specific Epic you want.
Jack Brickey. Community Leader. Feb 22, 2018. Nele, i believe the issue lies w/ your board filter. It appears you want to exclude all issuetypes except Stories for whatever reason. However, please include Epics. Try changing as follows: project = IG and issuetype in (Epic, Story) Like • Yanet Morales likes this.
Manage your tasks in a JIRA project. If your tasks run through all the different stages (starting with analysis and ending with training e.g), then still follow my first suggestion. If you intend to create different tasks for each stage in the process, you might just as well choose different issue types for them and simplify the workflow.
Changing ticket type (epic, story, task, bugs) with 2 different workflow. i have 2 workflows one for epics and one for story, tasks and bugs. once a ticket is created as a story i cant change it to an epic or vice/versa. epics has a product management route while the rest have a development life cycle route. i have tried to add a shared status
Premium users have 1000 global and multi-project rules per paid user per month. (i.e 200 users in Jira Cloud Premium will have 200,000 monthly global/multi-project rules per month). This is pooled across all Jira tools and all users. Customers on free and standard plans have access to 100 and 500 global and multi-project rules per month
